Question:

Hello What would you recommend to eliminate a rattle from the receiver when pulling a 14 foot boat trailer. Mine is a 2 inch receiver. Thanks

To drastically reduce the movement you're getting inside the 2 inch receiver of your trailer hitch when towing I recommend the Let's Go Aero Anti-Rattle Receiver Lock # 63232. This assembly uses a block and spring to pull the ball mount's shank tight against the inside wall of the hitch receiver so that it stays in place during travel. A really nice thing about this particular unit is that it also serves as a hitch lock (with 2 keys included) to help deter theft.

Please just note that your ball mount needs to have a hollow shank for this to work. I have attached a video demonstration that you can check out as well.

If the shank on your ball mount is solid another great option is the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061. This actually slides over the shank of the ball mount and hooks around the collar of the hitch receiver with the U-bolt to eliminate movement. This does require that your hitch receiver has a collar or ring around it.

I have attached a short video review on the Quiet Hitch that you can also take a look at.
