Question:

We have a fleet of Ford F350 ambulances. We are looking for a way to improve the ride in the back of the truck for the patient. The problem we believe is that the ambulance box is to heavy for the suspension to work properly. Do you think this product would help or do yo have another product that might be able to help?

Air springs are a good solution if the load in the back is frequently changing side to side. When it remains static a better solution would be to go with a non-air system. The load in the back of an ambulance can change depending on the personnel inside, the equipment, and the patient. But there is also not as much room to move the variables around in the back. Either type of system would work for you.

For your ambulances, and for an air system, I recommend the Firestone system, # F2550. Make sure that the 5,000 pound capacity of this system is enough for the extra weight of the service cab and contents. You can install these systems and inflate or deflate them at an outside air pump like you might find at a gas station, but I recommend adding the Level Command II kit, # F2219, for in-cab control. If you need more capacity, then I recommend the Timbren system, # TFRTT350E. This system is rated for up to 12,000 pounds. The two rubber springs do work independently of each other to account for varying loads. There is less adjustability than an air system but it will definitely improve ride comfort.
