Recommended Tire and Wheel Combo To Replace 20.5x8.0-10 Tires On Jayco Pop Up Camper

Question:

Hello, I am researching tires for my pop up camper with tandem axel. I want a good quality tire and wheel. I am looking at Item # AM3H470 size 20.5x8.0-10. Can your team recommend alternate/comparable tires and wheel combinations with the 4 lug pattern? The trailers dry weight is 2,400 pounds. Also, will I have to carry these to a tire shop to get balanced before I install them onto my camper? Thanks in advance!

The 20.5x8.0-10 tire that you referenced on your pop camper is the same size as the 205/65-10 tires we carry. The only options available for the 205/65-10 wheel and tire combos are the Kenda options that you were looking at. I recommend the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" Galvanized Wheel part # AM3H470 with 4 on 4 bolt pattern. They are load range E so their maximum load capacity is 1,650 lbs at 90 psi compared to the lower capacities of the other load range options. They are the best option we have available in this size.

The tire manufacturers do not balance their tires so you can have them balanced at a local shop if you so choose but it isn't really necessary with trailer tires.
