Should Keel Rollers Touch the Bottom of the Boat
Updated 08/14/2019 | Published 08/13/2019 >
Question:
I purchased the rollers awhile back, but I now realize that the height of the bracket may not be correct for my boat. This is a 2008 KeyWest 152CC. It has a V-haul front. My trailer is a Road King. In the full forward position on the trailer, the boat rest on the two boards. Can you look at the attached pictures and tell me whether I should move the rollors up towards the keel? My intuition would be to move the rollers up so that the are flush against the keel, but not supporting any weight? If there should be weight, then the only way I can think to do it is to mark the bracket with the rollers touching the bottom of the keel with boat on the trailer, then remove the boat and move the rollors up X inches? Thanks!

Thanks for the photo. It does indeed look like you need to move your keel rollers up towards the bottom of the boat until they are touching but not supporting the full weight. Therefore, marking the bracket when the rollers are flush to the bottom and then moving them up to this point will be a great idea.
