To install a brake controller on your 2000 Toyota Tundra that isn't equipped with any factory connector you will need to start with a 4-Way. For this I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118367, which will plug right into a factory port under the truck on the driver's side for a completely plug-and-play installation.
With the 4-Way in place you will need to use the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 to upgrade it to a fully functional 7-Way. The kit includes the 7-Way harness itself that will plug into the existing 4-Way, along with all the additional wiring, circuit breakers, and quick-splice connectors needed to activate all the circuits and install a brake controller.
I have attached the written installation manuals and a couple of videos that you can use for reference.
For the brake controller itself I really like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 because of its easy-to-read digital display and continuous diagnostics that will quickly alert you to any potential issues. I have included a video demonstration that you can check out as well.
