Determining RV Towing Capacity for Flat Towing Ford Expedition with Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar

Question:

Is there a problem concerning the weight of the Expedition with the weight of the Rv. I have a Georgetown xl model 359 .are there any concerns why this might not work?

Your 2015 Ford Expedition weighs about 5,600 to 5,800 pounds. The Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676 (excellent choice) has a towing capacity of 8,000 pounds so it's more than up to the task. As far as the capacity of your Georgetown XL RV you will need to contact the RV manufacture. Most likely it has a higher capacity than this but I definitely recommend making sure.

If you give them your VIN when calling they should be able to pull up specific specs such as its towing capacity pretty quickly.

In order to flat tow the Expedition you will also need a base plate kit, a lighting solution, and a supplemental braking system. If you need some or all of these parts please let me know and I will be happy to make some recommendations.
