Question:

Inside control extends and retracts but outside touch pad does nothing. Why? How to fix?

Expert Reply:

You may need to try resetting the outside touch pad on your Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning # LC517517. There are 2 different was that this can be accomplished. You can try unplugging the touch pad for 10 seconds (check for any corrosion on the plugs while doing this) and then if that doesn't fix it you can try clicking each button from top to bottom. Once you get to the bottom button hold it for 7-10 seconds.

If none of this fixes the problem then you'll need to replace it with part # LC717666. I confirmed all of this with my contact at Lippert.

The fuse blew for my awning. And continues to blow fuses. Where is the manual close on my awning? My awning is partially open

If you have the Solera Smart Arm Awning # LC517517 like above, there is a manual override option by using a power drill and 7/16" socket. There's a rubber grommet covering the manual port on the drive head that just needs to be removed. Take a look at the picture on page 11 of the instructions manual for its exact location. The instructions are linked at the bottom of the product page.
