Solution for Swagman Bike Rack That Doesnt Clear Spare Tire of Winnebago View Motorhome
Question:
i am trying to use the swagman on my Winnebago View and because of the location of the spare tire on the back the receiver doesnt allow the rack to clear. i purchased an extension, but now not comfortable with all the play between receivers. Have you found anything that works to avoid this?

Since there is already quite a bit of play at the back of an RV I can only imagine how much movement you are already seeing by using an extension at the back of your Winnebago View to haul the Swagman Trailhead 4-Bike Rack # S63381. An extension like what you are using only exaggerates the movement of an accessory it will be very difficult to make it so that your bike rack is pretty stable.
For your application I recommend swapping out your Trailhead bike rack for the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. I'm not sure how much clearance you are needing but the Hitching Post Pro sits out 4 more inches than the Trailhead which should be enough to clear your spare tire. You will need to take some measurements first though to make sure this is the case.
The Hitching Post Pro also comes with an anti-rattle hitch pin to help eliminate movement during travel.
