Question:

I have a Ford F350 dually with a slide-in truck camper, with a total weight of truck and camper 12,600 lbs. GVWR is 14k. I will be towing a 16 foot tandem axle box trailer. The weight of trailer and load will be under 5,700 pounds. I may carry less, but unlikely to carry more load. Trailer has 2-5/16inch ball coupler. I need to pair the truck and trailer with both a WD hitch and an extension. I have a 3inch receiver on truck and looking at a 36inch TorqueLift Cannon. The Fastway e2 WD Trunion rated for 6k GTW and 600 lb TW seem a good match. In your videos you talk about adding weight of load in truck BEHIND rear axle to the tongue weight. So my questions: 1. Are TL 36inch Cannon and Fastway 6k good match? 2. How do you suggest I estimate tongue weight considering the truck camper? I have weighed tonque weight and it runs about 12 of total trailer weight. 3. What is the actual weight of the TL 36inch cannon? 4. What is the actual weight of the Fastway e2 Trunion 6k/600? Thanks

The Torklift Cannon part # TLE1636 that you referenced was designed specifically to fit the 3 inch hitch of your 2019 Ford F-350 and is rated for use with weight distribution so it's a great solution for you and it also can be used with the Fastway kit part # FA92-00-0600 that you referenced. This extender weighs 82 lbs and the Fastway weighs 94 lbs. Both of these do not need to be factored as tongue weight though as technically they become part of the "hitch" according to the manufacturers.

If you can determine the weight of the camper you'd need to consider right at 50 percent of that as additional tongue weight that will be behind the rear axle of the truck.
