Question:
Do you need an electronic breaking system also when you have sway bars and hitch installed when towing a 2018 hummingbird with a 2014 Ford Explorer?

If your towing setup is heavy enough that a weight distribution system improves the towing experience then yes, a brake controller is going to be needed.
So the easiest to install brake controller that also works really well is the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180. Basically this just plugs into an active 7-way and once you sync it to your phone it's ready to go. This brake controller is proportional which means it senses the amount of deceleration your tow vehicle is applying and applies the trailer brakes in a relative way.
If you don't have trailer wiring currently you'll need to install a 7-way which for that you'd need the part # 118272 which is a confirmed fit for your 14' Explorer. I attached an install video for this kit for you to check out as well.
