You have a post regarding a husky power jack that isn’t working. You suggest applying power directly to the jack to see if the toggle switch is bad. Can you explain how that is done?

The process that you are referring to for the (Discontinued) Husky Brute Electric Trailer Jack means that you will need to take the power wire that goes from the back of the switch to the motor (trace to confirm) and then attach that directly to a 12 volt power supply. If the jack works once this is done then you know the switch is bad and it can be replaced. However, if the jack still does not work even when direct power is applied to the motor and you have checked the ground then the motor is bad and as this is not a replaceable part, the jack must be replaced.

I think the best value for an A-frame tongue jack is the Stromberg Carlson # SC63VR which is rated for 4500 pounds of tongue weight.
