Comparing ST205/75R14 Tires Between Load Range C and Load Range D

Question:

I HAVE A 2018 ROCKWOOD MINI-LITE 23 FT TRAVEL TRAILER. FULLY LOADED THE TRAILER WEIGHS 6,000 LBS. MY PRESENT TIRES ARE CASTLEROCK ST205/75R14 WITH A C LOAD RATING. I BELIEVE THAT A C LOAD RATING IS CUTTING IT CLOSE. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR AN UPGRADED TIRE? IM A RETURNING CUSTOMER

For your 2018 Rockwood Mini-Lite travel trailer, the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10235 are my recommendation for you. These radial tires have a Load Range D rating and are rated for 2,200 lbs at 75 psi each with a speed rating of 81 mph. These not only will increase the capacity by a couple hundred lbs each but the speed rating increase is also a nice upgrade.

When you move from Load Range C to Load Range D, you will get a stronger sidewall on your tire with an 8 ply rating versus a 6 ply rating.
