Replacing 3 Wire Tail Lights on 1962 VW Bug with Combined 2 Wire Lights
Updated 06/07/2019 | Published 06/06/2019 >
Question:
Hi, I will be using the 732 converter on my 62 VW BUG . I am installing 1961 tail lights. Right now I have three wire tail lights and will be going to two wire tail lights. Would I have to use the isolation diode system together with 732 converter? Or will the converter allow me to have both functions turn/stop. I am trying to mimic the 1961 VW tail light function which only has one bulb with two filaments. Thank you. Please advise.

Installing the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Converter # RM-732 before the new tail lights on your VW Bug will combine the circuits from the separate wiring on the vehicle so that the new lights function properly. You would not need to add any diodes to this setup for everything to work as it should with the brake, turn signals, and running lights (you won't connect the running light circuit to the converter).
I have attached a short video review on this unit that you can check out as well.
