Will The Mounting base for Hand Winch Fit On Boat Winch Support?

The base plate that the winch mounts on for my boat is only 3” wide would you recommend putting a winch that’s 5 3/4” wide on that base.

I wouldn't hesitate to add the 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch with 20' Strap - 2,500 lbs # 315-W2500D to your 3 inch wide trailer winch post. Many of the boat winch posts are not even that wide. For instance the CE Smith Winch Stand - Galvanized Steel - 30" Tall x 2" Wide # CE31013G. At minimum two bolts are needed to hold the base, but ideally 3 or 4 could be used on your support to give stability and support to your mount. It will not be an issue to have the base overhang the support.
