The Global Link RV Entry Door Locking Latch Kit with Keyed Alike Option part # 295-000019 does not come with any sort of pattern or template but I can confirm that you will need at least a 2-1/2" wide x 3-1/2" tall cutout. If you like, you can make a template using these measurements and then transfer that to the door. The cutout would need to be placed near the edge of the door but since this is a new install you can pick the handle height.
