The original motor is hard wired so does the recommended unit come in a hard wired version or adapter to connect to the original components on my steps.

The correct replacement motor for the Kwikee 25 Series Steps is going to be the Lippert Components Kwikee Step Motor for 25 Series part # LC369506. I spoke to my contact at Lippert about the hardwire setup you have now and they said that if you don't already have a plug going to your old motor then you you will also need the Harness Adapter (Am-Packard Female) part # LC382253 which plugs into the new motor and then the step controller.
If you can send me photos of your setup I may have better advice for you.
