Question:
I just ordered a united cargo tailer 16 ft x 7 ft tandem axle. I have a 98 Chevy Tahoe . I don't see a trailer hitch wire. It may be up under the bumper so the manual says. I need info on what I need to get this trailer operational for work. I believe it has a 7 way molded plug on the trailer and according to united -it needs a brake controller. I would like info on this please. Also , I plan on installing an alarm system inside the trailer that works on its own power. Do you have some setup for supplying a battery and how or can it be it be charged from the main tow vehicle ? Thank you

The 1998 Tahoe needs to be wired for all the functions you need. You would need to start by installing a 4-Way wiring harness, like part # C55319, and then use a kit to upgrade to the round 7-Way plug needed for the trailer, part # ETBC7. The electric brake controller and 12 volt auxiliary line can then be connected to that round 7-Way. The 12 volt auxiliary line could be used to charge the trailer battery powering the alarm system. You can view all the parts you would need using the links below.
One of our popular brake controllers is the Tekonsha Prodigy, part # 90885.
