The diameter of a 275/80R-22.5 tire is normally around 39-3/4 inches so you need a tire cover that fits 40 inch tires.
A good option for a 40 inch spare tire cover is Camco part # CAM45251 in black. The Camco tire covers are designed with an UV resistant fabric and a non-scratch lining so your wheels do not get damaged while covered. They are also designed with an elastic cord and an adjustable strap to tighten the cover around the tire. The Camco covers are a good affordable option but may require a little work to get the cover on the tire. You have to get on the ground and tighten the adjustable strap to get the cover on. The Camco cover has comes in white part # CAM45326 and off white part # CAM45336.
A better option for for a 40 inch spare tire cover is Adco Ultra Tyre Gard part # 290-3977 in black. The Adco Ultra Gard covers are designed with overlapping seams and double needle stitching to stand up to bad weather when left in the elements. They are also designed with the soft inner lining to protect your wheels. These wheel covers are a bit easier to put on the tire because they have a bungee cord that just needs to be fastened once the cover is on the tire compared to the other options with adjustable straps. The Adco cover also comes in white part # 290-3949, diamond plate part # 290-3749 and camouflage part # 290-3649.
The best option for a 40 inch spare tire cover is Covercraft SnapRing TireSavers Tire Covers part # ST7005BK. The Covercraft covers are designed with a heavy duty vinyl that protects the wheels from the elements. The cover is built is lined with flannel to protect the wheels. Covercraft is the best option because the covers are easier to put on the wheels compared to the other options. They are designed with a snap ring that allows you to just put the cover of the wheels and the cover snaps into place on it's own. These covers do not require you to get on the ground and tighten a bungee cord or adjustable strap. They also come in white part # ST7005WH.
