How to Determine Correct Grease Seal for Homemade Trailer

Question:

I need inner and outer seals. I have a homemade trailer that uses Timken tapered bearings 09067/09195. Do you have least expensive bearing hub seals that would fit 3/4 inch spindle and 1.938 inch outer hub? I need 2 sets of inner and outer seals for two wheels. Thanks.

I can help you determine how to figure out the grease seal you need, although a trailer spindle won't have an inner and outer seal; the Timken bearings you referenced seem to be automotive bearings and there wasn't a cross-reference that will allow me to determine the spindle you have, which means your best option is to measure.

You need to use a digital caliper that measures to the thousandths like and measure your spindle where the grease seal rides. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure; this measurement will be the inner diameter and you will need a grease seal to match.

For example, Grease Seals # RG06-020 have a 1.50" inner diameter and 1.987" outer diameter.

I have added a link to our entire selection of seals for you to take a look at as well as a help article on bearings, races and seals that I strongly recommend reading.
