Determining if Installing Timbren Axle-Less System Will Change Trailer Ride Height

Hi there, I have an enclosed 6x10 aluminum utility trailer with 3500 torsion axles. I want to add better off-road capability but keep the trailer height roughly what it is today. Does the Timbren 3500lb axle-less suspension add a lot of height? Are there different configurations / tuning that influence that height difference?

The Timbren Axle-Less Systems come in a variety of different spindle designs that may allow you to increase, decrease, or simply maintain your trailer's current ride height.
The Timbren 3,500 Pound # ASR3500S04 that you were looking at features 4 inch drop spindles which would lower the ground clearance on the trailer. It's hard to say how much this would differ from your current setup since it depends on exactly what kind of torsion axles you have, but I can tell you that this system would place the center of the hub 1/4 inch below the frame/mounting surface.
You can compare this to what you currently have to see if this will maintain or lower your trailer's height.
Otherwise a better option might be with the Timbren 3,500 Pound Straight Spindle model # ASR3500S05. These straight spindles would place the center of the hub 3-13/16 inches from the frame. You will again just want to compare this to your current setup to see if there will be much difference.
Once the system is installed there aren't any adjustments you could make on them to increase or decrease the right height of the trailer.

Chris, can you tell me how Timbren determines the 1.75" deflection shown in their drawings? I installed the ASR3500S04 on my Pace enclosed trailer (replacing the Dexter torsion axle), and got more like 3" deflection when fully loaded (about 3300 lbs. gross weight). Had a friend that used a larger kit for their tandem axle stacker trailer, and said they experienced much more "sag" than what the instructions indicated. Jon
