I have a old style Reeves hitch.is it possible to remove the bracket on the spring bars and install a u bolt with chain that hooks up on the chain tension brackets that are mounted on the the camper tongue. Do away with the saddle brackets.

It does look like an old style Reese system. We have seen a few of these and they are similar to the newer version # RP66084. The part pictured has been replaced with the newer dual cam system yet they function in a very similar way. They no longer make that system, so I recommend upgrading to the newer system if you need replacement parts as those parts are no longer available.
