Question:
I have a 4 way flat pin on my trailer. But it has 6 wires. All harnesses I find have 4 or 5 wires. Im assuming it has a double ground. Can I just wire both grounds into the one ground that comes with the harness on a 5 wire?

Your trailer connector is considered a wishbone connector. A wishbone connector splits the running light circuit into two separate wires. Instead of a single brown wire carrying the running light circuit, you have a wire for running lights on the right side of the trailer and another wire for left side running lights. Then you have a wire carrying the left turn/brake light circuit, wire for right turn/brake light circuit and white wire for ground. Since your connector has 6 wires you probably have an extra ground. This is just a guess so you should test the functions of the trailer connector by using a car battery with a circuit tester part # 40376. Make sure to ground the trailer connector to the negative side of the battery.
If you need to replace the wishbone connector on the trailer side I recommend Mighty Cord Wishbone 4-way flat connector part # A10-4225VP. You can cut the existing plug and wire the right turn signal and brakes to the green wire. Wire the left turn signal and brakes to the yellow wire on the connector. Then wire the two running light wires to the two brown wires on the connector. You do have to splice the two grounds into the white wire on the new connector or ground them both to a clean bare metal surface of the trailer frame.
