Question:

Will this bikerack work on a Toyota Highlander 2011. I was told the only type that will work is the trailer hitch type and I dont have a hitch. Thanks

In order to carry bikes on your vehicle, you will either need to add a roof rack or a trailer hitch. At this time, there are no trunk mount bike rack options that will fit a 2011 Toyota Highlander. The bike racks can not be secured to the top of the rear hatch properly.

I recommend adding a trailer hitch because it is more versatile and cost effective than a roof rack. I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75586, because it does not require the use of a stabilization strap when using a bike rack. I have included a link to the installation details for you.

For a compatible bike rack, I recommend the Swagman Trailhead, # S63360. This is a 2 bike carrier with anti-sway cradles and it tilts down away from the vehicle for greater access to the rear of the Highlander. I have included a link to the installation details for the bike rack as well.
