Question:

ive seen/heard people say they mounted solar panel to yakima roof rack using the square nut plates. how is possible? because there is not enough clearance to get a wrench in on the underside of the solar panel frame to tight the bolt into the square nut plate? Thanks

If they are using Anchor Plates like part # Y8810074 directly to their solar panel then I'm not sure. I would imagine that it has to do with the design of the solar panel.

These anchor plates were made specifically for Yakima complete roof rack systems like the HardTop SL Roof Rack # Y01618. This system uses the CoreBar (which doesn't have channels) so if you are able to mount your solar panel in a crossbar that has a T-Slot you can use parts # Y01127 and # Y00426-482104 instead.
