Will Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch # 13703 Fit I-Beam Trailer Frames
Updated 03/28/2019 | Published 03/26/2019 >
Question:
I was wondering if this product would work on I Beams. I have a 2017 Rockwood Roo 233S that has I Beam. I am looking to just carry five bikes on my 2inch Allen bike rack system so I dont lose my bumper. I dont trust safety struts with that much weight. Thx.

Yes, the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13703 can be installed on an I-beam frame (as well as a C-channel or box frame). As long as the frame width on your Rockwood trailer is between 22 and 72 inches this will work great.
I certainly agree that for more heavy-duty applications like what you are wanting to do a frame-mount hitch is the best option. A bumper mounted unit won't provide the kind of support that would be required for this setup.
This particular hitch features a 2 inch receiver opening and a 350 pound tongue weight limit. I have attached a short install video on a Rockwood camper that you can also take a look at.
