Question:
flat towing a 2018 fusion hypbid with adaptvie cruise control My husband was told by your company we cannot flat tow our fusion hybrid because it has adaptive cruise control. I have read the manual, spoken to Ford Customer Service and the dealership customer service - all say it can be flat towed. Where did you get the info that it cannot be flat towed? We had checked with the dealer before we bought it in January and they verified with Ford that it is not a problem. Thank you

We get all of our fit information directly from the base plate manufacturers. It is based on their confirmation of a fit whether there is a compatibility issue even if the vehicle manufacturer says it can be towed. The base plate manufacturers in their fit guide will say there is not a fit until they have physically tested and confirmed a fit, so sometimes it hasn't been tested when they say there isn't a fit.
I have some good news for you. We now have a custom fit that is confirmed to work with your 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid with adaptive cruise control. It is the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524458-5. Now that there are base plates confirmed to fit, you can absolutely flat tow your vehicle, and I recommend the following components to complete your setup:
Tow Bar-- Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain # RM-522
Safety Cable---RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643
Wiring--Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 and battery charge line kit # RM-156-25
Relay Kit--Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400
Braking system--SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251
High-low adapter--You will need a high-low adapter for this fit and I've attached an article to help with the measurements to determine fit and linked the page to your options.
I've attached videos of each of these products to assist.

If I install Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit Why do I need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles? Do I need the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles if I install the Brake Buddy Select 3 Item # HM39524 that comes with a 15 amp charger?
