We have quite a selection of brake controllers that are compatible with your 2018 Ram 1500 Limited! Out of our available selection I recommend going with the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR with the plug and play adapter # 331-TPH-020 for 2 reasons.
The first is that it has 2 different braking options for your trailer; one is for proportional braking and the other is user-control (more like time-delayed). This allows you to have your trailer brake at the same time and intensity as the brake pedal in your Ram (proportional) or for your trailer to brake at a constant intensity that is predetermined by you (user-control). You can actually switch back and forth between these settings while you are towing which means you can achieve better control no matter what kind of terrain you are towing over.
The second reason is that the main unit, or the brains, can sit literally anywhere there is space for it so you can hide it under and behind almost anywhere. The only part of the controller that you have to have access to is a control knob which has a diameter of about 3/4" so you won't be crowding your already-crowded center console or taking up leg-space.
The connector for the plug and play adapter is found under the driver-side dash to the right of the steering wheel. Attached is an installation video of the Tekonsha Adapter # 3024-P that you can check out for the exact location. The brake controller shown in this video is the Prodigy P3 # 90195 which is another excellent option but it does take up leg space.
I have also linked some review videos for the Tow-Pro Elite that you can reference so you can get a feel for and see how the operation works.
