Question:
Our VW Atlas tow package has been installed at VW. While driving we found although the brakes and lights work our trailer batteries are not charging. The wiring was factory done. Any ideas?

It's actually pretty common for factory tow package wiring to not have the 12 volt circuit complete on the 7-way. What you'll need to do is activate the circuit yourself or have the dealer do it. What will need to happen is you'll need to run a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) through a breaker like part # 9510 from the positive post of your vehicle battery to the 1:00 pin of your 7-way and you'll have the charge circuit active.
