Question:
Can I mount the Tuson internal trailer TPMS in my spare tire or does the tire need to rotate to send pressure and temperature data? Thanks,

I spoke with my contact at Tuson regarding their TPMS systems like the 6 Sensor Kit # 335TPMS6WIVS that you were looking at and he said that the tire does need to be rotating for the sensor to be able to gauge pressure and temperature. You can certainly still mount the sensor to the spare and program it to the monitor but it's not going to be able to read any data until the spare is actually mounted and being used.
For a similar system that CAN be used to read the pressure of a spare tire I recommend taking a look at the TireMinder i10 TPMS # TM29FR. This system features 6 sensors and a large, easy-to-read LCD color monitor that provides early warning detection with visual and audible alerts. The tires do not have to actually be rotating for the sensors on this system to accurately read data.
I have attached a short review on this system along with the written instructions manual that you can check out.
