Question:
I am in need of a weight distribution for a dump trailer with gvw 14,000 lbs. the trailer has an 8” I beam frame so I am not sure if this will effect mounting in any way? I am also wondering how a weight distribution would work when towing an empty trailer, loading it, and then unloading it. Would I have to make adjustments each time? Any advice would be much appreciated Thanks

The only viable solution for your application is the Reese Titan Weight Distribution (WD) # RP66006. This has a max weight rating of 17,000 lbs with a tongue weight (TW) range of 1,000 lbs - 1,700 lbs so you do need to make sure the loaded TW of your trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle doesn't exceed this weight.
This WD system will fit with your 8" tall I-beam frame but you will need a professional welder to place boxed in areas about 5-1/2" long along the frame so that the brackets have a place to press during operation.
The only other things you would need are a shank like part # RP54976 or # RP54977 and a hitch ball like part # 63840. Attached is a review video of this WD system for you to check out.
