Can the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger be Used if Trailer Also Has Shore Power Hookup
Updated 01/24/2019 | Published 01/23/2019 >
Question:
If I install a DC to DC charger like the Redarc unit, is it ok to also wire the battery for a conventional AC powered charger when connected to shore powerinch or generator? Dont want one to damage the other thanks

Expert Reply:
Yes, you can still charge your batteries with shore power or your generator as well as with the vehicle's alternator while driving with the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger part # 331-BCDC1225D. The two charging systems are wired independently of one another so there will be no effect.
I have attached an installation video for you on this system which just so happens to be on a trailer with an AC power grid as well.
