Question:
Hi - I purchased a Speedknob assumed it would come with a new core lock and key but its only shipped with a core key. Which core lock will fit this Speedknob and will the core key thats shipped with the Speedknob work with a newly shipped lock? And can I assume new keys come with the new core lock? Also, I hate the little hitch pin that only goes in one side. When I was using one it began to come out routinely - very unnerving. I placed a cable on the unit as a safeguard, but is there a better hitch pin that locks in?

The Replacement SpeedKnob and Wedge Assembly for Yakima Bike Racks # 8880508 came with the control key for installing or removing unlocked Yakima lock cylinders so you can simply remove your old lock core and reuse it with that key.
If you want a new lock core instead of reusing your old one, you can use the single core like Replacement SKS Lock Core for Yakima Racks and Carriers - A151 # Y8771-A151 and get key # Y8772-A151 to go with it or get a kit like # Y07202 that comes with two cores, two keys, and the control key. I've attached some videos to assist.
I believe the hitch pin you are referring to is the Replacement Hitch Pin for Yakima Hanging-Style Bike Carriers # 889-0231 but if you are looking for something else let me know.
