Can Older Demco Commander Tow Bar Be Used with Base Plate Kit for 2018 Chevy Equinox

Question:

We bought our tow bar back in 2015. We just go a 2018 Chevy equinox and had a demco base plate installed. The Clevis on the tow bar is a bit to long to use with the new baseplate. Is there a replacement Clevis we can put on?

I forwarded this to our contact at Demco and what they responded with is below. The short answer is you should already have all of the parts you need:

The baseplate for the 2018 Chevy Equinox ( # DM9519332) is the Demco tabless baseplate. The 2015 Demco Commander will need to have the clevis ends removed and the baseplate # DM9519332 came with new ends to replace on the tow bar. See illustration below: The yellow highlighted parts come pre-assembled in the box with the baseplate the customer just needs remove the existing clevis and bolt this on the Commander.
