Does Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit FHDPB230101 Affect Clearance for Storage

Question:

Hello. Answering another customer, youve mentioned the Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit for 2 x 3-Inch Trailer Tongues, part # FHDPB230101inch that fits this trailer and would help with the storage in garage. I have couple of more question regarding this and appreciate your answers: 1- Whats the distance between the trailers coupler that connects to the car and closest point to the Y that I can cut and install the fold-away hinge kit? 2- Is it possible to push the trailer against the wall and store it in upright position? I have attached a sample picture.

The Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit # FHDPB230101 is designed for trailers with a straight 2 x 3-inch tongue that is made of steel with a wall thickness of between 0.188 and 0.120-inches. Please note that it is not suitable for aluminum trailers.

The selected pivot length determines the weight rating. The longer the pivot distance the lower the weight rating. Please refer to the linked chart to see the pivot distance and resulting weight capacity. Since this folding coupler swings sideways (either side, your choice) it will not affect wall clearance for storage considerations.
