Trailer Connector Required to Use Curt Echo Brake Controller C51180
Question:
Can this be used on a tow dolly behind a 28foot camper and the camper has a six pin not 7 pin thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180 does need an RV-style 7-way blade-type connector like # PK11893 in order to function.
If your camper trailer has a 6-way socket on the rear now you can replace this easily with a 7-way using part # PK12-707E which has screw terminals for easy connection. Although there are wiring adapters to convert a 6-way to a 7-way, such as # 337TC1067P and # 47435, these add an additional connection where is never good in terms of reliability.
The Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 has a transmission range of 50 feet but that can vary somewhat depending on the Bluetooth capabilities of your connected smartphone. It should be noted that even if you somehow lose connectivity as you are driving, the Echo # C51180 will still work.
