Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch and Rail Kit for a Chevy C60 Flatbed

Question:

I have a Chevy C60 low boy that I need a 5th hitch and rail kit for. I need to know how long the the base rails are on the Curt rail kit and what 5th wheel hitch you recommend I use with it. The bed height is 35inch and the 5th wheel trailer is 53 from the bottom of the pin box arm.

The Curt Universal Fifth Wheel Base Rails with Installation Kit part # C16100 has rails which are exactly 43" long end to end. The kit also comes with frame brackets which should allow you to secure the base rails to the trucks frame rails but if not then custom ones will need to be fabricated.

According to the measurements you have provided, you will need a 5th wheel hitch that can adjust to 18" tall. For this, I recommend the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30033 which has height adjustments from 14" - 18". It also has a 22,000 lb weight capacity and comes with a wiring harness for the lighting connection.
