Troubleshooting Trailer Turn Signals Not Blinking in Tandem with Tow Vehicle
Published 11/15/2018 >
Question:
Does anyone know if this uses the same circuitry as the Hopkins and Tekonsha harnesses for the Chevrolet Colorado? The other two seem to use what they called operational amplifiers which seem to 180* invert the turn signal circuit to the trailer on each side when brakes are applied. Truck signal flashes, trailers off. Trailer light flashes, trucks off. Im on the search for a harness that will flash the vehicle and trailer at the SAME time whether brakes applied or not. Any info? Thanks.

The Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness # C55510 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2008 Chevy Colorado but its circuitry won't be any different from the Tekonsha or Hopkins harnesses for your truck that you have already tried.
Based on my research the issue that you described is actually not too uncommon on a lot of Chevy vehicles. It simply has to do with how the truck is wired and there really isn't anything you can do to convert it so the trailer turn signals will flash in tandem with the truck. I will say though that having them flash in an alternate sequence is actually safer as it catches the eye of nearby drivers a bit more when traveling down the road.
