In order to flat tow your new 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk behind your RV you will need a base plate kit, a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution, and a supplemental braking system.

Starting with the base plates I recommend the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit # RM-521451-5. This kit is custom fit for your Cherokee Trailhawk and the great thing about its design is that it can hook right up to a compatible tow bar without needing the obtrusive crossbar. Its brackets are also virtually invisible to give you a clean look when you aren't towing.

For a tow bar that will work great I really like the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain # RM-522. This tow bar features a non-binding design for easy release of your Jeep, extra-long telescoping arms for better maneuverability on the road, and cable guides to help protect your wires and prevent them from getting tangled. It has a 6,000 pound weight capacity. For safety cables the Roadmaster # RM-643 will work perfectly.

Then for a lighting solution I recommend the Roadmaster Diode Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This kit will let you use your Jeep's tail lights and wiring system while also preventing any feedback from the RV. It includes a 6-Way connector that you will mount ot the front of the Jeep and enough coiled wiring to go from there to the 7-Way on the RV.

For a supplemental braking system I highly recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. This is an excellent proportional system that will activate the brakes on the Jeep at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your RV. The great thing about this particular system is that after the initial installation it will require very little attention as you transition back and forth between towing and every day driving.

Lastly, there is a good chance you will need a high-low adapter in order to keep your tow bar in the "Safety Zone" (3 inches above or below level). I have attached a great article that explains how to choose the best one for your setup along with a link that will take you to our available selection. I have also included installation videos and instructions for the products mentioned that you can use for reference.
