Question:
Can you recommend and good tire chain for 285/60R/20 class S for hunting in the mountains just in case I get stuck in mud/snow. Won’t need them for pavement just need a good pair for off road muddy conditions. Thanks!

Expert Reply:
The only Class S rated snow chains/cables we have available for the larger 285/60-20 tires on your Ford F-150 is with the Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC3029. These are low-carbon steel rollers that will allow for better traction in the snow.
Please keep in mind though that cable chains like these likely won't give you the type of traction in heavier snow or mud like a traditional tire chain would. The issue is that there just isn't a low clearance/Class S rated set of standard chains available that will fit over your larger tires. I did also take a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2015 F-150 and did find that Class S chains need to be used because of the limited wheel well clearance. They should only be placed on the rear tires.
