Question:

I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ with a 2 1/2 lift that needs some suspension help becasue of the added winch, tire carrier, etc. added to the front and rear. I like the Timbren products because of no maintenance. What would you suggest?

I do have a great option for you, however the Timbren Front or Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TJFTJ that you referenced will not work on your lifted 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I spoke with my contact at Timbren and he said that if you have a true suspension lift where the space increased between the factory bump stops and axle, this particular kit won't work because of the coil spring suspension on the TJ model. The spacers that they have available that would otherwise be needed to fill this gap will not work for this application.

Your best option then for the front axle is the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL80702 and for the rear axle part # AL60811. These will work great on the Jeep to give you the support you need with your winch, tire carrier, and other accessories. The springs feature a load-leveling capacity of 1,000 pounds and can be adjusted from 5 psi to 35 psi. You can then add the 2 Inch Air Lift Spring Spacers # AL52420 so that it works with your lift.

I know you liked the Timbren springs because of the lack of maintenance/adjustment they require, but unfortunately there isn't another jounce-style spring available that is compatible with your lifted Jeep. If you have a relatively consistent load though you shouldn't need to mess with the air bags much at all. The benefits of an air spring system like this over the Timbrens is the ability to adjust the bags so that you always have a smooth, comfortable ride. The Timbren springs, while a great product, tend to create a bit of a harsher ride at times, especially when riding empty.
