Your R-Pod Trailer has electric brakes from the factory, so you will need to install an electric brake controller in your 2018 GMC Acadia. If your Acadia has the factory tow package, then you can simply use the wiring harness # 3026-P and then connect a controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 which is my recommendation because of the ease of use. This controller has an LCD screen that takes code deciphering out the equation and offers you presets for the best braking with your trailer. The ease of use is unparalleled.
If you do not have the factory tow package wiring, then you will need to use the Universal wiring kit # ETBC7 which also requires a 4-way. If you don't have 4-way yet, then I recommend # 118720.
