Most manufacturers simply state that using a hitch extender will reduce the tongue weigh of your hitch's capacity by 50%. There is a formula you can use because the standard ball mount about 11 inches, so you will determine the length difference of the hitch extension and that will determine the leverage on the hitch itself. I've attached a couple photos to assist.
Manufacturers either explicitly state the reduction or they defer to the 50% capacity drop as a blanket statement.
You will not only want to determine the manufacturer's tongue weight rating on the hitch, but also the tongue weight rating of the vehicle (outlined in the owners manual) when determining the length of extension and capacity needed. Extensions will be rated for use with weight distribution systems if they are allowed to be used with one. I've linked the page to all the hitch extender options to assist. You will want to reference the note section in description for the capacity reduction.
The TorkLift SuperHitch with dual receivers and SuperTruss is needed for many high tongue weight trailer options when using an extension.
