Thought my controller was bad too. I cleaned the ground wires and got a new "RV Gear Box Linkage with Motor Compatible With For Kwikee Electric Steps 1101428"Of ebay $46 Off ebay,The motor and gearbox are shipped apart from each other,When I put them together it wouldn't work,I found that You have to tighten the bolts evenly in a cross pattern or the gearbox will bind inside not letting the motor work.Took back apart then we tightened it back together and it worked. Tested the stairs to retract. Used a volt meter to make sure when it was done Retracting the steps the voltage went back to 0 from 12v showing that controller was working properly.
