Question:

Kia Forte 2015 hitch. My wife has a handicap scooter, 4 wheel, weighs about 50 lbs assembled. Was looking at a Silverspring carrier for $200. Do not know anything about weight class, hitch types or anything associated with carriers, hitches, etc.

For your 2015 Kia Forte we have only one hitch option. It is the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24903. This is a confirmed fit and will only allow you to use a Class I compatible cargo carrier. The best option we have available for this hitch to carry a scooter is the Curt # C18110, measuring 19x47". Unfortunately there aren't any options with integrated ramps for that size hitch. This is both the longest and widest carrier we have for that hitch. I recommend using cargo straps like # EM05710 to secure your scooter to the cargo carrier. These straps have the secured hook to ensure you don't have a disconnection at the hook.

To further secure your carrier and mobility scooter and deter theft, I recommend adding the cable lock # e98891 and hitch lock # e98879.
