Do I run the power lead to the battery thru the inside or outside.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Typically the power wire for a wiring harness like the T-Connector # C56387 that you are installing on your 2018 Chevrolet Malibu is routed outside and under the vehicle. If you can locate a grommet like part # A11GB at the rear of your vehicle you can then route the wire outside without drilling through your Malibu. Be sure to seal it back up with a gasket maker like part # LT37467.
Once outside we usually try to route the wire through the frame as that will keep it protected pretty well. You don't have to run it through the frame but you will want to avoid any moving parts or places that will get hot.
I have attached a link to a helpful article on routing a power wire for you to reference as well.
