Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where Prodigy Brake Controller Shows OL and SH Code

Question:
Intermittently, I get a S.H. And o.L then goes away for awhile. I had the mechanic inspect the wires and found 2 wire frayed and touching the frame. He repaired it with bud connectors then worked great for few hours, then back to the same problem. What else can I do to find the problem?

I wish I could tell you exactly where the short is, but you're going to have to start basically at the connector on the trailer and then work your way back to the brake assemblies looking for any additional frays so that you can fix as needed. It is also possible your brake magnets are damaged and they are worn down to the point that the windings are exposed. I attached a help article that details how to troubleshoot brake magnets as well.
