Which is better. Round bar or trunnion bar?? Thanks,

The biggest differences between round bar and trunnion are ground clearance and capacities. Trunnion bars offer much better ground clearance and have higher capacities typically. The round style bars have grooves on the bar and just twist in from the bottom of the hitch head. The bend of the bar is where the reduced ground clearance comes from. The trunnion style bars slide into the head from the side or back which makes it easier to hook up then the round bar system.

I'd recommend the trunnion Strait Line kit part # RP66074 that you referenced as long as your loaded tongue weight falls in the range of this system which is 600-1,200 lb.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
