Adding a Brake Controller to 2002 GMC Sierra 1500

Question:
I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500. It does not currently have a 4 or 7 pole harness. The truck is prewired with a six wire harness wires only with the following circuits. Photo attached of the manual and I confirmed this is installed on the truck. 1Yellow - Left Stop/turn signal 2 Dark Green - Right Stop/turn signal 3 Brown - taillamps 4 White - Ground 5 Light Green - Backup lamps 6 Light Blue - CHMSL. What type of harness adapter do you have that would allow me to install a combo 4 pole and 7 pole trailer plug unit? Is it possible to get a 7 pole out of the existing wires? thanks,

You can add a 7-way to your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500; it sounds like you have the bundle of wires above the spare tire (see linked help article). What you can do is use the 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets w/ Mounting Bracket and Wiring # HM40975-11998 which will give you a working 7-way.
