Question:
When the seven pin connector is plugged in to 2017 Silverado a message appears on instrument panel trailer wiring. Any suggestions?

I took a look at the owner's manual for your 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500 and it said that if the "Check Trailer Wiring" message appeared you have the Integrated Trailer Brake Control (ITBC) and it indicates there is a short in the wiring going to your electric brakes. You will need to go over that wiring and look for the short, paying attention to any broken, crimped or otherwise damaged wires.
