Where are Most Trailer Shorts When Two Circuits are Shorting Together

Question:
My rear top maker lites stay on when ignition is on the rest flicker ,the abs lites are on till the marer lite switch is on then they go off.i just spent 500$ on a guy telling me i have a short...ya think!im about to jump off a bridge!

So the short must be between a power source that comes on when the ignition is on and the top marker lights. I really wish I could tell you where that short is going to be but typically it's where the circuits end up near each other like right near the trailer wiring connector.
